Fjaristan's Journey
Imagine a world where families aren't separated by arbitrary borders. This was the heartbreaking reality that inspired Mohibullah Noori, founder of the Fajristan movement, on a visit to Shughnan, a town bordering Afghanistan and Central Asia, in 2001. Witnessing the pain of families divided by nationalism and the legacy of colonialism, Noori embarked on a mission to foster regional cooperation and unity.
Fajristan, a term coined by Noori, translates to "Land of the Awakened." It's a vision for a united Central Asia, encompassing Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan.
This dream goes beyond just geographical boundaries. It advocates for:

Open Borders: Free movement of people across the region, eliminating the hardship faced by families like those Noori encountered in Shughnan.

Regional Union: A stronger Central Asia, working together to address shared challenges and opportunities.

Exchange of Ideas and Resources: Fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing for the betterment of the entire region.
Noori and his team have been passionate advocates for this vision for over two decades. They believe that regional cooperation is key to overcoming common issues like security threats, economic instability, and environmental challenges. A united Central Asia, they argue, would be a more prosperous and influential player on the world stage.
The Fajristan idea has garnered both support and criticism. Some see it as a utopian ideal, while others acknowledge the potential benefits of regional integration.

Drawing on lived experience and regional expertise, our team works collaboratively to advance dialogue, mobility, and shared prosperity across the Fajristan region.

Fajristan Regional Integration Movement FRIM is a regional platform uniting regional leaders, activists, and experts to advocate for inclusive integration policies and cooperation across Fajristan — a region encompassing Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan. We are a diverse network driven by the shared belief that regional integration is the key to peace, prosperity, and stability in the Fajristan region.
Our members represent citizens bound by a common regional identity — including civil society members, social media activists, border city residents, minority communities with cross-border ties, migrant workers, refugees, students, scholars, and businesspeople living or traveling across the region. FRIM also engages closely with government officials, regional organizations, and policy experts working to advance regional connectivity, trade, and people-to-people cooperation. Through advocacy, dialogue,
and collaboration, we aim to transform borders from barriers into bridges — fostering a peaceful
and interconnected regional order based on mutual trust, shared prosperity, and collective
progress.
